Bed and Breakfast Veteran's Promotion A Great Success

When the 2010 nationwide Bed and Breakfast Veteran's Day Promotion was announced, Longing For Home Bed and Breakfast, in Rogersville Alabama, made three of our four rooms available.  This annual promotion offers a free night at participating B and B's across the United States.  Within two days these guest rooms were reserved.

On  10 November we were greatly honored to welcome Veterans and their wives to Longing For Home and enjoyed a great evening and morning with stories of their experiences in service to this great country.  With the service of these families spanning from Korea/Vietnam to Iraq and Afghanistan, this was truly a wonderful time!  Connection and obvious comradship between strangers emerged quickly as soldiers from different times and theaters of operation shared their stories.
After a breakfast of stuffed peaches, breakfast casserole, sundried tomato and provolone sausage, biscuits and a traditional Southern delicacy-chocolate gravy.  Plenty of coffee, juice, tea, etc.,etc.,etc. Some folks just couldn't keep their eyes open and settled in for a little nap while others visited, walked our trails or enjoyed our porch swings and the beautiful fall day.

We look forward to opening our B and B next year as a way of expressing our gratitude for the service of our soldiers who sacrifice so much in the defense of our country and constitution.  Our prayers are always with you.

America's Great Loop

For the second year, Longing For Home Bed and Breakfast provided the concert venue for America's Great Loop Cruise Association crawl in Rogersville, Alabama.

The following is an excerpt from Carol and John Sagel's Adventures of Seas 2 Day blog:

.... Tuesday afternoon, the Chamber of Commerce of Rogersville, AL sent school buses to the park to take us into town to shop and have dinner. We really appreciated their generosity. Later on Tuesday, they took us to a concert at the Longing for Home Bed and Breakfast. The concert was fantastic! Brianna Dean performed with the Randy Basham CDs. They had a s'mores bar, a massage tent, a cigar tent, besides the concert itself. To us, this was the highlight of the Rendezvous....

If you are looking for a great outdoor venue for your group - check out our website (www.longingforhome.com) and give us a call.
