Bed and Breakfast Veteran's Promotion A Great Success
When the 2010 nationwide Bed and Breakfast Veteran's Day Promotion was announced, Longing For Home Bed and Breakfast, in Rogersville Alabama, made three of our four rooms available. This annual promotion offers a free night at participating B and B's across the United States. Within two days these guest rooms were reserved.
On 10 November we were greatly honored to welcome Veterans and their wives to Longing For Home and enjoyed a great evening and morning with stories of their experiences in service to this great country. With the service of these families spanning from Korea/Vietnam to Iraq and Afghanistan, this was truly a wonderful time! Connection and obvious comradship between strangers emerged quickly as soldiers from different times and theaters of operation shared their stories.
After a breakfast of stuffed peaches, breakfast casserole, sundried tomato and provolone sausage, biscuits and a traditional Southern delicacy-chocolate gravy. Plenty of coffee, juice, tea, etc.,etc.,etc. Some folks just couldn't keep their eyes open and settled in for a little nap while others visited, walked our trails or enjoyed our porch swings and the beautiful fall day.
We look forward to opening our B and B next year as a way of expressing our gratitude for the service of our soldiers who sacrifice so much in the defense of our country and constitution. Our prayers are always with you.
Have a blessed Day. Bill and Betty Maloney Longing For Home Bed and Breakfast "A State of Mind,
